Salisbury, with its amazing Cathedral which has the tallest spire in England as well as a Medieval Clock said one of the oldest mechanical clocks in England alongside a magnificant font by William Pye.
The Cathedral Cloister is also spendid with a great cafe terrace and of course the Chapter House which holds one of the only remaining copies of the Magna Carta.
The exterior of the Cathedral hosts the West Front Facade which looks out onto the lawn and Cathedral Close. Nearby is the Walking Madonna sculpture by Elizabeth Frink.
Salisbury also offers other landmarks with the two main gates, North Gate and St Ann Gate are in great conditions. Next to St Ann Gate one can find a sundial on the facade of Malmesbury House commemorating the calendar reformation. The College of Matrons built in 1682 dominates the Cathedral Close.
One of the gems of the city is the peaceful St Thomas of Canterbury Church with its world famous frescos.
Finally head for the meadows and the River Avon where one can witness the scene made famous by Constable's painting.
